Welcome to Carmpus (the "Platform"), an AI-powered educational technology platform owned and operated by Carmpus Educational Global System Ltd ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), a company incorporated under the laws of Nigeria.
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Carmpus website located at www.carmpus.io and all related mobile applications, APIs, tools, content, and services (collectively, the "Services"). These Terms apply to all users, including learners, employers, organisations, and any other person or entity that accesses or uses the Platform.
By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which are incorporated by reference. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of an organisation, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organisation.
1. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms, the following definitions apply:
"Account": The registered profile created by a user to access the Platform and its Services.
"Adaptive Assessment": An AI-driven testing tool that adjusts question difficulty and topics in real time based on the learner's demonstrated performance.
"Zeno AI Tutor": The AI-powered conversational tutor available on the Platform that provides personalised learning guidance and explanations.
"Coding Lab": An interactive coding environment embedded in the Platform for practising programming skills.
"Knowledge Map": A visual representation of a learner's competency profile, skill mastery, and knowledge gaps generated by the Platform.
"Verified Competency Certificate": A digitally verified credential issued by Carmpus upon demonstrated mastery of specific skills or subject areas.
"Content": All text, data, graphics, images, audio, video, code, assessments, and any other material available on or through the Platform.
"User Content": Any material, data, or information that a user submits, uploads, or otherwise makes available on the Platform.
"Employer / Organisation": A business, company, or institution that uses the Platform to assess, vet, upskill, or recruit technical talent.
"Subscription Plan": A paid or free tier of access to the Platform's features as described in Section 4.
2. Eligibility & Account Registration
2.1 Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Platform independently. Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may use the Platform only with the verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian, who assumes full responsibility for the minor's use. The Platform is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from such individuals.
2.2 Account Accuracy
You agree to provide truthful, accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep such information up to date. Providing false or misleading information constitutes a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate account termination.
2.3 Account Security
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account, whether or not authorised by you. You agree to notify us immediately at support@carmpus.io upon becoming aware of any unauthorised access to or use of your account. We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this obligation.
2.4 One Account Per User
Each individual may maintain only one personal Account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent subscription limits, obtain unauthorised access, or abuse promotions is strictly prohibited and may result in the suspension or permanent termination of all associated accounts.
3. Services Provided
Carmpus is an AI-native educational technology platform that provides, among other things:

- ✓AI-powered Interview Preparation tools
- ✓Career Consultation services
- ✓Employer-facing tools for candidate assessment, vetting, shortlisting, and upskilling
- ✓ATS integrations and API access (Enterprise tier)
We reserve the right to modify, enhance, suspend, or discontinue any feature or aspect of the Services at any time, with or without notice, and without liability to you. We will endeavour to provide reasonable advance notice of material changes that adversely affect paid subscribers.

4.3 Currency & Billing
Nigerian residents and entities are billed in Nigerian Naira (₦) via Paystack. International users and organisations are billed in United States Dollars ($). Currency is auto-detected based on your location and may be switched manually on the Pricing page. All stated prices are exclusive of applicable taxes, levies, or duties, which shall be borne by the subscriber.
4.4 Price Changes
We reserve the right to revise our pricing at any time. Existing paid subscribers will be notified of any price increase affecting their plan via email at least 30 days prior to the change taking effect. Your continued use of the Services after a price change constitutes acceptance of the revised pricing. If you do not accept the revised pricing, you must cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.
5. Billing, Auto-Renewal & Payment
5.1 Recurring Billing: Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual cycle, beginning on the date you first subscribe. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current rate unless you cancel prior to the renewal date.
5.2 Payment Authorisation: By providing payment information, you authorise us and our designated payment processor (Paystack for NGN transactions and applicable international processors for USD transactions) to charge the applicable fees to your payment method on each billing cycle. You represent that you are authorised to use the payment method provided.
5.3 Failed Payments: If a payment fails, we will attempt to re-process the charge. If payment remains unsuccessful after reasonable attempts, we reserve the right to downgrade your account to the applicable free tier or suspend access until outstanding balances are settled.
5.4 Taxes: You are responsible for all applicable taxes, duties, levies, or similar governmental charges associated with your subscription. Where required by law, Carmpus will collect and remit such taxes on your behalf, and the applicable tax amount will be added to your invoice.
5.5 No Proration for Downgrades: If you downgrade your plan mid-cycle, you will retain access to your current plan's features until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds will be issued for the remaining days of the billing cycle upon downgrade.
6. Refund & Cancellation Policy
14-Day Money-Back Guarantee
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for first-time paid subscriptions. To qualify, you must submit a refund request within 14 days of your initial payment and must not have consumed more than 20% of the Plan's feature limits or made extensive use of premium features (including generation of Verified Competency Certificates, completion of AI Interview Preparation sessions, or download of Knowledge Map reports).
6.1 How to Request a Refund: Refund requests must be submitted in writing to
support@carmpus.io with your account details and the reason for the request. Approved refunds will be processed within
10 business days.
6.2 Non-Refundable Items: The following are non-refundable under all circumstances: (a) free plan subscriptions; (b) promotional or discounted pricing; (c) renewal charges where cancellation notice was not provided before the renewal date; (d) partially used annual subscriptions beyond the 14-day guarantee window; and (e) any one-time add-on purchases.
6.3 Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account dashboard or by contacting
support@carmpus.io. Upon cancellation, your access to paid features will continue until the end of the current billing period. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund for any unused portion of the current billing period, except within the 14-day guarantee window.
6.4 Employer / Organisation Plans: For employer and organisation subscription plans, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis and are subject to the terms of any separate enterprise agreement. Please contact

7. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree to use the Platform only for lawful, legitimate educational and professional purposes and strictly in accordance with these Terms. The following conduct is expressly prohibited:
✕Using the Platform for any unlawful, fraudulent, or unauthorised purpose, or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
✕Reproducing, distributing, publishing, selling, sublicensing, or creating derivative works from any Platform Content without our prior written consent.
✕Attempting to circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security features, access controls, or technical limitations of the Platform.
✕Reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, or otherwise attempting to derive the source code of the Platform or its underlying AI models.
✕Using automated tools, bots, scrapers, or scripts to access, extract data from, or interact with the Platform without our express written authorisation.
✕Sharing, selling, or transferring your account credentials or subscription access to third parties.
✕Using AI-generated content from the Platform for academic dishonesty, plagiarism, or to misrepresent your competency to employers or institutions.
✕Uploading or transmitting malware, viruses, or any code designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorised access to any system.
✕Harassing, abusing, impersonating, or intimidating other users or Carmpus staff.
✕Using the Platform to collect or process personal data of other users without their knowledge and consent.
✕Engaging in any conduct that could damage Carmpus's reputation, goodwill, or intellectual property.
We reserve the right to investigate any suspected violation of this policy and to take appropriate action, including account suspension, termination, and referral to law enforcement authorities.
8. Intellectual Property Rights
8.1 Ownership: The Platform and all of its Content — including but not limited to software, source code, algorithms, AI models, databases, assessment questions, learning materials, graphics, user interfaces, trademarks, service marks, logos, and the "Carmpus" and "Zeno" brands — are the exclusive intellectual property of Carmpus Educational Global System Ltd or its licensors and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property laws.
8.2 Licence to Users: Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform and its Content solely for your personal or internal business educational purposes during the term of your subscription. This licence does not include any right to resell or make commercial use of the Platform or its Content.
8.3 Feedback: If you submit suggestions, feedback, ideas, or improvements to us ("Feedback"), you hereby assign to Carmpus all rights, title, and interest in and to such Feedback, and we may use it without restriction or compensation to you.
8.4 Knowledge Maps & Certificates: Verified Competency Certificates and Shareable Knowledge Maps are issued as personal credentials. You may share them for professional purposes (e.g., on LinkedIn or in job applications), but you may not modify, falsify, or misrepresent any credential issued by Carmpus. Carmpus retains all underlying intellectual property in the generation, design, and verification of such credentials.
9. AI Features & Disclaimer
⚠ Important: AI Limitations
The AI-powered features on Carmpus — including the Zeno AI Tutor, AI Interview Preparation, adaptive assessments, and AI vetting tools — are provided as educational aids only. AI outputs may contain inaccuracies, errors, or outdated information and should not be relied upon as authoritative or professional advice in any field.
9.1 No Professional Advice: Nothing generated by our AI tools constitutes legal, medical, financial, career, or other professional advice. Carmpus does not warrant the completeness, accuracy, or fitness for purpose of any AI-generated content.
9.2 AI-Generated Assessment Results: Adaptive Assessment scores, Knowledge Maps, and competency indicators are generated by AI models that may be subject to bias or error. These outputs are intended to support learning and should not be used as the sole basis for hiring, academic grading, or professional certification decisions.
9.3 Employer Use of AI Vetting: Employers using Carmpus's AI vetting, scoring, and shortlisting tools acknowledge that such tools are assistive aids and that all hiring decisions remain the sole responsibility of the employer. Employers must comply with all applicable employment, anti-discrimination, and data protection laws when using AI-assisted talent screening features.
9.4 Training Data: By using the Platform, you acknowledge that your aggregated, anonymised usage data may be used to improve the performance and accuracy of our AI models, in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not use your personal data to train AI models in ways that would identify you individually without your consent.
10. User-Generated Content
10.1 Your Content: You retain ownership of any User Content you submit to the Platform (e.g., uploaded documents, notes, or custom assessment materials). By submitting User Content, you grant Carmpus a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, display, process, and use your User Content solely to provide and improve the Services.
10.2 Content Standards: You warrant that your User Content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, does not contain unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or harmful material, and complies with all applicable laws. You are solely responsible for all User Content you submit.
10.3 Removal of Content: We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms, infringes third-party rights, or that we determine in our sole discretion is harmful or inappropriate, without prior notice or liability to you.
11. Third-Party Services & Links
The Platform may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, applications, or services ("Third-Party Services"), including payment processors, social login providers, and ATS platforms. These Third-Party Services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and Carmpus makes no representations or warranties regarding them.
Your use of any Third-Party Service is entirely at your own risk. We are not responsible for the availability, content, security, or practices of any Third-Party Service, and a link or integration does not constitute an endorsement by Carmpus. We recommend reviewing the terms and privacy policies of any Third-Party Service before use.
12. Data Privacy & Security
We are committed to protecting your personal data. Our collection, use, and processing of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Platform, you consent to the processing of your data as described therein.
We implement industry-standard technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
For employer accounts, you agree to process candidate data obtained through the Platform in compliance with all applicable data protection laws, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable, and any other relevant jurisdiction-specific legislation. You are responsible for obtaining all necessary consents from candidates before submitting their data for assessment on the Platform.
13. Disclaimers of Warranties

THE PLATFORM AND ALL SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CARMPUS EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.
We do not warrant that: (a) the Platform will be available at any particular time or location; (b) any errors or defects will be corrected; (c) the Platform is free of viruses or other harmful components; or (d) the results of using the Platform will meet your requirements or expectations.
Carmpus does not warrant that AI-generated assessments, competency scores, Knowledge Maps, or any other Platform outputs will accurately reflect your or any candidate's true abilities, and such outputs should not be used as the exclusive basis for any consequential decision.
14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CARMPUS EDUCATIONAL GLOBAL SYSTEM LTD, ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, LICENSORS, OR SERVICE PROVIDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, BUSINESS, GOODWILL, OR ANTICIPATED SAVINGS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE PLATFORM, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
In all circumstances, Carmpus's total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees paid by you to Carmpus in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) ₦50,000 (or its USD equivalent).
Some jurisdictions do not permit the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. To the extent such laws apply, some of the above limitations may not apply to you, and your rights may differ.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Carmpus Educational Global System Ltd and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, licensors, and service providers from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, and fees (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:
- ›Your violation of these Terms or any applicable law or regulation;
- ›Your User Content or your use of the Platform;
- ›Your infringement of any intellectual property or other rights of any third party;
- ›Your use of AI vetting or assessment features in connection with employment or hiring decisions; or
- ›Any misrepresentation made by you.
16. Account Suspension & Termination
16.1 Termination by You: You may terminate your account at any time by following the instructions in your account settings or by contacting
support@carmpus.io. Termination does not entitle you to a refund except as expressly provided in Section 6.
16.2 Termination by Carmpus: We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate your account, with or without notice, if we determine in our sole discretion that: (a) you have violated these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy; (b) your use of the Platform poses a security risk or legal exposure to Carmpus or third parties; (c) you have provided false or fraudulent information; or (d) we are required to do so by law or regulation.
16.3 Effect of Termination: Upon termination for any reason, your licence to use the Platform immediately ceases. We may, but are not obligated to, delete your account data and User Content. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 8, 13, 14, 15, and 17 — shall survive.
17. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
17.1 Governing Law: These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
17.2 Informal Resolution: Before initiating formal proceedings, you agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute by contacting us at
legal@carmpus.io. We will endeavour to resolve the dispute informally within 30 days of receiving your written notice.
17.3 Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms, or the breach, termination, or invalidity thereof, shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration under the Arbitration and Mediation Act of Nigeria 2023, with the seat of arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria. The language of the arbitration shall be English. The arbitral award shall be final and binding.
17.4 Class Action Waiver: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you waive any right to bring or participate in a class action, collective action, or representative proceeding against Carmpus. All claims must be brought in your individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class proceeding.
17.5 International Users: If you access the Platform from outside Nigeria, you do so at your own risk and are responsible for compliance with local laws. Nothing in these Terms limits Carmpus's right to seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property or confidential information.
18. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Where changes are material, we will notify you by: (a) posting a prominent notice on the Platform; (b) sending an email to your registered email address; or (c) both. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the date of the most recent revision.
Your continued use of the Platform following the effective date of any revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must discontinue your use of the Platform and cancel any active subscription before the effective date.
